Job Role: Facilities Technician
Location: A coeducational secondary school in Hackney
Rate: £28,947 - £31,836 per annum
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
GSL Education London Branch is looking for a skilled and reliable Facilities Technician to join a coeducational secondary school in Hackney. As a Facilities Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining the school’s buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities of the Facilities Technician:
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs around the school site
- Support the upkeep of the school’s buildings, grounds, and equipment
- Respond quickly and effectively to reported issues and emergencies
- Assist with setting up facilities for events and school activities
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and school policies
- Help manage and monitor stock of tools, materials, and equipment
- Work closely with school staff to maintain a clean and safe environment
Requirements to succeed as a Facilities Technician:
- Previous experience as a Facilities Technician or in a similar maintenance role
- Good practical skills with ability to fix, maintain, and repair various equipment and facilities
- Awareness of health and safety standards and safe working practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, hardworking, and with a proactive attitude
- Good communication skills and a professional approach
