SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Lewisham, South East London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term
Weekly Salary: £450 – £525 (based on experience)

A rewarding opportunity awaits in Lewisham for a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant ready to make a meaningful impact in a primary school setting. If you’re eager to support children with additional needs on a 1:1 basis, this role will allow you to help shape a positive and inclusive learning experience from the very start of the academic year.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Working closely with individual pupils with special educational needs, offering tailored support and encouragement.

  • Supporting learning inside and outside the classroom to help children achieve both academic and personal goals.

  • Collaborating with class teachers and the SENCO to implement strategies and personalised interventions.

  • Building confidence, fostering independence, and promoting emotional wellbeing in young learners.

  • Ensuring the pupil's needs are met in line with their EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) where applicable.

We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly in early years or primary education.

  • A kind, calm, and resilient attitude.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt support based on individual needs.

  • An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply).

  • Right to work in the UK and suitable references.
