PMLD Support Assistant – Gainsborough, Lincolnshire
Full-Time | £88.94 – £100 per day | Immediate Start

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)? GSL Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Support Assistant to work full-time in an all-age Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.

This specialist school supports pupils with a wide range of profound and complex needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and severe learning difficulties. As a member of the support team, you’ll play a key role in delivering individualised care and education plans, helping pupils thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils with PMLD across a range of ages, from early years to post-16

  • Assisting with personal care, feeding, mobility, and therapy programmes

  • Working closely with class teachers and therapy teams to implement individual learning and care plans

  • Encouraging communication through sensory play, assistive technology, and non-verbal methods

  • Ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment

Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience supporting children or young adults with PMLD or complex needs

  • Is comfortable with personal care and manual handling (training can be provided)

  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude

  • Holds a valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or is willing to apply for one through GSL Education

  • Can commit to a full-time role, Monday to Friday, term-time only
