Job Title: Mental Health Worker
Location: Lincoln
Salary: £88.94 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Are you passionate about supporting the emotional and mental wellbeing of young people in education?

GSL Education are currently seeking a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Worker to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a school environment.
You’ll play a crucial role as a Mental Health Worker in building positive relationships, promoting mental wellness, and helping primary and secondary aged students manage their emotions and behaviour in a supportive and structured setting.

Responsibilities as a Mental Health Worker:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students struggling with their mental health.
  • Implement emotional regulation strategies and behaviour interventions.
  • Build trusting relationships that encourage engagement and confidence.
  • Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed learning environment.
  • Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to ensure consistent support.

Requirements for Mental Health Worker:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or mental health challenges.
  • Be confident using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and committed to improving student wellbeing.
  • Have relevant training in mental health, psychology, or youth work (desirable).
  • Hold an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
  • Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps over the last 10 years.
