Salary: £88.94 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently seeking a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Worker to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a school environment.
You’ll play a crucial role as a Mental Health Worker in building positive relationships, promoting mental wellness, and helping primary and secondary aged students manage their emotions and behaviour in a supportive and structured setting.
Responsibilities as a Mental Health Worker:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students struggling with their mental health.
- Implement emotional regulation strategies and behaviour interventions.
- Build trusting relationships that encourage engagement and confidence.
- Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed learning environment.
- Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to ensure consistent support.
Requirements for Mental Health Worker:
- Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or mental health challenges.
- Be confident using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches.
- Be patient, empathetic, and committed to improving student wellbeing.
- Have relevant training in mental health, psychology, or youth work (desirable).
- Hold an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
- Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps over the last 10 years.
