Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Waltham Forest
Salary: £150 to £220 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long-term

GSL Education is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to work in a highly supportive special school located in Waltham Forest. This role is ideal for educators with experience in teaching pupils with a range of special educational needs including MLD, ASC, and SEMH. The school is well-resourced and committed to ensuring every learner receives personalised support and access to a meaningful education.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored lessons to students with special educational needs across various key stages.

  • Create an inclusive, supportive and nurturing learning environment.

  • Collaborate with support staff, SENCOs and parents to ensure consistent and effective provision.

  • Develop and implement individual learning plans in line with EHCPs.

  • Monitor and assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.

  • Promote positive behaviour management and engagement in learning.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.

  • Previous teaching experience in SEN/SEMH/ASC/MLD settings is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of individualised teaching approaches and the SEND Code of Practice.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.

  • A calm, resilient and flexible approach to teaching.
