Salary Range: £160 to £250 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH Teacher to support pupils in schools across Chapeltown. We offer both long-term and flexible day-to-day placements, tailored to suit your availability and teaching style.
In this role as a SEMH Teacher, you’ll deliver personalised learning to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, helping them overcome barriers and achieve meaningful progress in their education.
As an Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering structured, engaging lessons adapted for SEMH learners.
- Creating a calm and nurturing classroom environment.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs and pastoral teams.
- Supporting the emotional regulation and personal development of pupils.
- Monitoring progress and contributing to reviews and planning meetings.
Skills & Requirements for an SEMH Teacher:
- Hold QTS and have relevant experience with SEMH pupils.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Resilience, patience, and the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and inclusive education.
- Up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps).
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
