GSL Education are seeking compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a dedicated all-age SEN school in Skegness. This is a unique opportunity to support students with a range of needs from Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) to Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), helping them thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a vital role in supporting students across various age groups and learning needs. Working closely with teachers and therapists, you’ll help deliver personalised learning plans, provide one-on-one support, and contribute to a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere.

Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

  • Assist students with MLD to PMLD in accessing the curriculum through tailored support and adaptive learning strategies.
  • Work alongside teachers and specialists to implement effective interventions and support plans.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment where every student feels valued.
  • Support students in developing communication, social, and life skills through structured activities and positive reinforcement.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and behaviour, and communicate effectively with staff and families.
  • Where necessary, support students with personal care needs in a respectful and dignified manner.

Requirements of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting diverse needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN or education are desirable.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
