Job Title: 1:1 Disability Support Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Stonecross
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Are you a caring and reliable Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with physical or learning disabilities?

GSL Education are currently looking for a 1:1 Disability Support Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Stonecross this September. This is a full-time, long-term role where you’ll provide personalised, consistent support to help a pupil feel confident and engaged in their daily learning.

About the Role:
As a 1:1 Disability Support TA, you’ll play a key role in promoting the student’s independence, engagement, and well-being. You’ll work alongside the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team to provide effective classroom and personal care assistance as needed.

Responsibilities as 1:1 Disability Support TA:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional physical or learning needs.
  • Assist with mobility, personal care, and daily classroom tasks as required.
  • Deliver adapted learning activities to meet the child’s needs.
  • Encourage confidence, participation, and communication.
  • Monitor and record progress and wellbeing, liaising regularly with staff and parents.

Requirements for 1:1 Disability Support TA:

  • Have experience supporting children with disabilities or additional needs in a school setting.
  • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and a proactive attitude.
  • Feel comfortable providing 1:1 support, which may occasionally involve personal care.
  • Have a full, up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with explanations for any gaps).
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
