Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) – Autism Specialist
Location: Seaford
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Are you a patient and compassionate SEN TA looking to support pupils on the autism spectrum in a meaningful way?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Seaford this September. This full-time, long-term position is ideal for someone who is dedicated to inclusive learning and has experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), especially those on the Autism spectrum.

About the Role:
As an SEN TA, you will be working closely with individual pupils or small groups, providing tailored support to help them access learning and develop key social and emotional skills. You’ll work in collaboration with teachers and the wider support team to maintain a structured and caring environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with autism to access the curriculum and classroom routines.
  • Deliver personalised learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Build positive relationships to promote confidence and independence.
  • Assist with managing sensory needs, emotional regulation, and behaviour.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and reporting of pupils’ progress.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Have experience supporting children with autism or other SEN in a school setting.
  • Demonstrate a nurturing and adaptable approach.
  • Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  •  Have a full, up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with explanations for any gaps).
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
