Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Lincoln
Salary: £88.94 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

An inclusive and supportive SEN school in Lincoln is looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work with students aged 2 to 19 years. This role involves supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Experience in care, support work, or SEN education will be highly regarded in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Support and lead learning activities across all key stages, from early years to post-16
- Assist teaching staff in delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning needs.
- Work with pupils who have complex needs, including SEMH, communication difficulties, and physical disabilities.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support, promoting engagement, confidence, and emotional well-being.
- Contribute to the implementation of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)
- Support with personal care where required, ensuring dignity and respect
- Maintain accurate records and liaise effectively with colleagues and external professionals.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an SEN school, care setting, or as a support worker.
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a senior TA role is desirable.
- Strong understanding of supporting children and young people with SEMH.
- A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach to working with learners of all ages.
- Confidence in leading small group interventions and supporting class teachers.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding procedures and professional boundaries.
- An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
