Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA)
Location: Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire
Salary: £88.94 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

A specialist school in Scunthorpe is looking for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. The role involves working with children who have a range of needs—from moderate to profound learning disabilities. Whether you have experience in a school setting or as a care worker, your background in supporting individuals with additional needs is highly valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with a variety of SEND.
  • Assist in delivering personalised learning plans under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Support pupils with personal care, communication, and mobility as required.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Promote emotional well-being, independence, and social development
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting concerns when necessary.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure holistic support.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND or in a care/support role.
  • A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with vulnerable learners.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to assist with personal care and medical needs where required.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
  • Relevant qualifications in care, education, or support work are desirable.
  • An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
