Humanities Teacher
Location: Sheffield, S9
Salary: Up to £220 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time
Are you an enthusiastic Humanities Teacher passionate about History, Geography, or Religious Studies?
GSL Education are currently seeking a motivated and engaging Humanities Teacher to work across secondary schools in Sheffield, starting September 2025. This role is ideal for both experienced educators and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to grow within a supportive and forward-thinking school community.
As a Teacher of Humanities, you will deliver captivating lessons across one or more Humanities subjects, encouraging critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the world. You will support academic progress, develop students' curiosity about the past and present, and nurture analytical and communication skills.
Teacher of Humanities Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Humanities lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5
- Foster a love for enquiry, debate, and historical/geographical/religious understanding
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Monitor and assess student progress, offering timely feedback and support
- Promote engagement through interactive and inclusive lesson planning
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum content and resources
- Support the development of cross-curricular themes and whole-school initiatives
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policy
- Encourage independent thinking and respectful discussion of global and cultural issues
- Prepare students for internal assessments and external exams
Requirements for Humanities Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Humanities or a related subject
- Experience as a Humanities Teacher in secondary schools is necessary
- Strong subject knowledge in History, Geography, and/or Religious Studies
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Commitment to professional development and student success
- Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
