PMLD Teaching Assistant – Spalding
Location: Spalding, Lincolnshire
Salary: £90 - £100 per day
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only

GSL Education is currently recruiting a committed and compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Spalding, starting in September 2025. This is a full-time role, offering a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with complex learning and physical needs.
Role Responsibilities:

Support students with PMLD, many of whom may be non-verbal and require high levels of personal care and physical support

Assist in delivering bespoke learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO

Use specialist equipment and communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton, switches – training provided)

Help maintain a safe, sensory-rich and inclusive classroom environment

Work closely with therapists, healthcare staff and families to ensure consistent care
We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children or adults with complex needs (education, care, or support settings)

Is calm, patient, and emotionally resilient

Understands the importance of dignity, encouragement, and structure in SEN settings

Is willing to assist with personal care and mobility support

Holds an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or is willing to apply for one)
