SEN TA – Speech & Language Focus
Location: Seaford
Salary: £90–£110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are currently looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) with a focus on Speech & Language support for a warm and inclusive school in Seaford. This role is ideal for a caring and proactive individual who can work closely with pupils, staff, and external specialists to enhance communication skills and promote progress.

About the Role:

In this position, you will support pupils with speech, language, and communication difficulties, both on a one-to-one basis and in small group settings. You will collaborate with the school’s SENCO and speech and language therapists to implement and track progress on tailored communication plans.

SEN TA – Speech & Language Focus Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted speech and language support to identified pupils across the school
  • Assist with implementing individual communication programmes and strategies
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and external professionals
  • Encourage the development of expressive and receptive language skills
  • Adapt resources and deliver activities to improve vocabulary, articulation, and listening skills
  • Work closely with class teachers to ensure inclusive classroom practice
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil outcomes and progress

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with speech, language, or communication needs (SLCN) as a SEN TA
  • Knowledge of speech and language development strategies (e.g., PECs, Makaton, visual timetables)
  • CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare.
  • A degree in SEND, Education, psychology or a similar field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach
  • Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply
