SEN Learning Support Assistant
Location: Horncastle
Salary: £88.94–£104.84 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join schools in Horncastle. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about helping students thrive both academically and emotionally. As a SEN Learning Support Assistant (SEN LSA), you will work closely with students diagnosed with ASD and ADHD, offering tailored academic and emotional support to help them engage positively with the curriculum and school life. You will support in-class learning, small group activities, and one-to-one interventions under the guidance of teaching and SEN staff.

Responsibilities of SEN Learning Support Assistant:

  • Provide individual and small group support to students with ASD and ADHD, promoting engagement and confidence.
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and adapting resources to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction in line with behaviour support plans.
  • Support students’ emotional regulation and communication through a patient and consistent approach.
  • Collaborate with SENCOs, class teachers, and outside professionals to implement strategies outlined in students' EHCPs.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress and behaviour when required.
  • Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

SEN LSA Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with ASD, ADHD, or related special educational needs (SEN) as a Learning Support Assistant or similar.
  • A relevant qualification in education or special needs (CACHE/NVQ Level 2/3 or similar) is desirable but not essential.
  • Calm, empathetic, and adaptable with strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of SEN strategies, including sensory and behavioural support.
  • Right to work in the UK and hold a valid, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
