GSL Education are currently recruiting an Autism Support Worker to join a specialist all-age SEN school in Spilsby. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support students with Autism and a variety of additional needs in a caring, structured environment. This is a Learning Support Assistant position, with pay scaled to reflect your experience and qualifications.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with Autism.
- Assist in delivering personalised education plans under teacher guidance.
- Help students navigate classroom routines and develop essential life skills.
- Use positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers.
What You Need:
- Experience supporting children or young adults with autism/SEN (in school or care settings).
- A calm, compassionate, and patient approach to behaviour and communication.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to students' individual needs.
- Understanding of PECS, Makaton, or sensory integration (desirable, not essential).
- A current, up-to-date CV (covering the last 10 years with no unexplained gaps).
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
