Job Title: SEMH Behaviour Mentor
Location: Wakefield, WF4
Salary: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Are you seeking a fulfilling role as an SEMH Behaviour Mentor where you can positively impact young lives?
GSL Education are looking for a passionate SEMH Behaviour Mentor to work in a supportive school in Wakefield. This role is focused on helping students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs manage their behaviour and succeed in the classroom. The ideal candidate will be Team Teach trained and ready to make a positive impact on students who need extra support.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEMH needs throughout the school day.
- Help students manage their emotions and improve their behaviour through positive strategies.
- Use Team Teach techniques when needed to keep students and staff safe.
- Encourage students to take part in learning and develop their confidence and self-esteem.
- Support students during transitions, break times, and in social situations.
- Follow the school’s safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.
What We Are Looking For:
- Must be Team Teach trained.
- Experience working with students who have SEMH needs, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, or challenging behaviour is desirable.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of behaviour support strategies and emotional regulation.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply through GSL Education.
