Location: Poole
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025 / Immediate

GSL Education are seeking a motivated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Poole, dedicated to ensuring that every child receives the education and care they deserve.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver high-quality, individualised learning to students with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties. You will work within a specialist provision to support learners academically, emotionally, and socially, helping them reach their full potential.

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons based on students’ EHCP targets.
  • Develop a nurturing classroom environment that supports emotional regulation and personal growth.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and SENCOs to ensure cohesive support.
  • Promote independence, self-confidence, and key life skills in pupils.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain records, and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
  • Implement effective classroom behaviour strategies that foster respect and cooperation.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and continuous improvement of SEN provision.

SEN Teacher Qualification:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
  • Experience teaching in SEN or specialist settings is highly beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of special education strategies and the UK curriculum.
  • Patient, empathetic, and innovative approach to teaching.

  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
