Full-Time PSHE Teacher – Secondary School in Southampton, Hampshire (SO30)

GSL Education are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) Teacher to join a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Southampton, Hampshire. This full-time role is set to begin in September 2025, with the potential for either a permanent or fixed-term contract following a successful probation period. The school is open to applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators.

Annual salary for this position ranges from £30,000 to £50,000, depending on experience.

Responsibilities of a PSHE Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons in PSHE that support students’ personal development and well-being.
  • Plan and implement a curriculum that addresses key topics such as mental health, relationships, and financial literacy.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a whole-school approach to personal development and safeguarding.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and events that support student welfare and community engagement.
  • Stay informed on current issues and best practices in PSHE education.

Required Qualifications for a PSHE Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A strong passion for PSHE and student well-being.
  • Experience teaching PSHE or related subjects at the secondary level (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
  • Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
