Job Title: Early Years Practitioner for Primary
Location: Southsea, Hampshire
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Start Date: Immediate or September 2025
Contract: Full-time

GSL Education are delighted to be recruiting a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to support a thriving mainstream primary school in Southsea. This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and motivated practitioner to join a committed team. Your support will be instrumental in developing their confidence, communication, and curiosity during these formative years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate, play-based learning activities in line with the EYFS curriculum.
- Provide nurturing support to children as they develop socially, emotionally, and academically.
- Monitor progress and contribute to observations and learning journals.
- Encourage positive interactions and independence in daily routines.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support holistic development.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
Job Requirements:
- A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (essential).
- Experience working with young children in a school or nursery setting.
- A solid understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
- Uni students are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.
- A positive, child-centred approach with the ability to adapt to individual needs.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
