Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £220 - £320 per day (based on experience and qualifications)

What You’ll Be Doing:
As Head of Science, your focus will be on high standards, innovative teaching, and outstanding leadership. Your main responsibilities will include:

Curriculum Leadership: Design and oversee a dynamic science curriculum that engages learners across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, supporting progression from KS3 through to KS5.

Team Development: Lead and manage a team of science specialists, supporting their continuous development and fostering a collaborative teaching environment.

Data-Driven Progress: Monitor student performance rigorously using assessment data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing intervention strategies to raise attainment.

Strategic Planning: Contribute to the school’s leadership team with strategic input and development planning aligned with whole-school goals.

Classroom Excellence: Lead by example in the classroom, delivering consistently high-quality science lessons that ignite curiosity and deepen understanding.

Quality Assurance: Ensure consistency in teaching standards, marking, and moderation across the department.
What We’re Looking For:

A qualified teacher with a strong academic background in science and relevant teaching qualifications (QTS required).

Demonstrated leadership experience within a science faculty or similar role.

A passion for science education and an ability to communicate its relevance in today’s world.

Skilled in managing people, performance, and progress in a fast-paced environment.

Confident in using data and assessment systems to drive outcomes.

Committed to professional growth and upholding high expectations for staff and students alike.
