Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Southsea, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience).
Start time: Immediate or September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and adaptable Science Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school environment. The position is available for an immediate or September 2025 start, offering flexibility for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and practical science lessons tailored to students’ varying needs and abilities.
  • Plan and implement lessons aligned with the national curriculum and school schemes of work.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to ensure student understanding and progression.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages experimentation and curiosity.
  • Assess and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted interventions where necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, resource development, and cross-curricular initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), be an Early Career Teacher (ECT), or possess a relevant overseas teaching qualification.
  • Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or general science, with the flexibility to teach across key stages.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
  • Willingness to work with diverse student cohorts, including those in mainstream or specialist settings.
  • Applications are also encouraged from experienced TAs or Cover Supervisors with a background in science and a desire to pursue teaching.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
