Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hammersmith & Fulham
Salary Scale: £85-£95 per day (based on experience)
Start Date: ASAP/Immediate

If so, we at GSL Education London have an exciting opportunity for SEN Teaching Assistants to join our client schools in Hammersmith & Fulham. Our client schools primarily cater to students with a primary diagnosis of Autism and complex needs, and we are looking for talented individuals who can make a real difference in their lives.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application through us.
  • Provide two professional child-related references covering the last 2 years.
  • An Updated CV with work and/or academic history from the last 10 years.

Requirements:

  • Prior SEN/care experience is an advantage.
  • A strong passion for working with students with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs.
  • Understanding, good knowledge and experience about children with Autism and complex needs
  • Level 2/3 SEN Qualification
  • At least one year of experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a school setting
  • Energetic and patient with strong classroom management skills and the understanding of inclusion, making all learners feel acceptable and promote the idea of inclusive learning
  • Capable to understand and implement the school’s behaviour policy, the SEN Policy and the code of conduct including the issuing of rewards and sanctions within the academy’s policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in undertaking observations for assessment of SEN children

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your role is crucial in providing support and assistance to students with Autism and complex needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Individualized Support: Providing tailored support to students, assisting them in overcoming the unique challenges they face due to their primary diagnosis of autism and complex needs.
  2. Collaborative Approach: Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that caters to the specific needs of each child.
  3. Personalized Education Plans: Implementing individualized education plans and strategies to help students achieve their potential and reach their developmental milestones.
  4. Social and Emotional Development: Encouraging and promoting social interaction, communication, and emotional development, key aspects of growth for these children.
  5. Personal Care: Assisting with personal care, ensuring the students' well-being and safety at all times.
  6. Progress Monitoring: Keeping a close eye on each student's progress and actively participating in their growth and development.
