PSD Teacher

Location: Chesterfield

Salary Scale: £130 to £170 a day

Start Date: ASAP

Status: Full Time

As a PSD teacher at Chesterfield School, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' personal, social, and emotional development. You will create inclusive learning experiences that cater to the individual needs of each student, fostering their social skills, emotional intelligence, and resilience.

Role of a PSD Teacher:

  • PSD teachers work closely with other professionals, such as educational psychologists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to develop and implement individualized education plans for each student.
  • They adapt and modify the curriculum to make it accessible and meaningful for students with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
  • PSD teachers use a range of communication strategies and tools, such as augmentative and alternative communication devices, to support students in expressing themselves and understanding others.
  • PSD teachers collaborate with other professionals, parents, and caregivers to ensure that students receive the support they need both in school and at home.

The successful candidate will:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience or passion for working with students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
