English Teacher

Salary: M1- UP3 (Paid to scale)

Start Date: September or sooner 

Location: Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire

Are you a passionate English Teacher looking to begin a new challenge? Or a Newly Qualified Teacher looking to get started within the sector?

GSL Education are currently looking for English Teacher to work in long-term placements. Roles are suitable for Fully Qualified and Newly Qualified Teachers who are looking to complete their induction year. Jobs may become permanent for the right candidates.

  • The school is a large comprehensive school with mixed genders aged 11 through to 18 years. Capacity of around 1169 students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, mark & deliver English up to GCSE or A-level Standard.
  • Engage students to learn the subject and classroom manage.
  • Have excellent communication skills to liaise with school leaders, parents, carers or guardians and young people.
  • Have patience and the ability to adapt teaching style to meet the needs of individual students are valuable traits.

As a successful candidate:

  • Have at least six months of teaching experience.
  • Have an enhanced child workforce DBS certificate on the Update Service or are willing to process one through GSL Education. at your earliest convenience.
  • Will hold QTS or other UK recognised teaching qualification.
  • Will hold a current Enhanced DBS registered with the update service or be prepared to apply for a new one.
