working hours: 8.45-2.48

  • Location: Consett, County Durham
  • Salary: £75 - £100 per day
  • Contract: Part Time, Permanent

Job Summary: GSL Education are seeking a part-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide essential support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This position focuses on facilitating a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs both in and outside the classroom.
  • Implement strategies to manage anxiety and promote positive behaviours.
  • Collaborate with teachers to tailor learning approaches to individual needs.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting students with SEMH challenges.
  • Strong understanding of mental health in educational contexts.
  • Empathetic and supportive approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service.
