Job Title: Cover Teacher

Location: Southampton
Salary: £120 - £165 per day
Start Date: Immediately

 

Are you a Primary School Teacher looking for more flexibility within your profession? GSL Education are currently recruiting Primary School Teachers to work with us to fulfil absence bookings within schools across Southampton!

At GSL Education we are supporting absence cover and permanent vacancies support for schools within the Southampton area. We provide the schools with excellent teaching candidates to fill day to day, long term, and even permanent positions, to provide support with their individual needs – as well as ensuring we find the right opportunities for you!

As a Supply Teacher, you will arrive at the school at 8:30am and finish the booking at 3:30pm, covering the class in the absence of the class teacher. The plan for the day will be there for you, and there is no expectation to plan or take any work home with you!



Are you an newly qualified educator seeking a rewarding role in Southampton? Look no further –. As a Cover Teacher, you will be pivotal in maintaining progression in students' learning experiences when teachers are absent. You will be required to teach in KS1 and KS2 classes.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Covering the lessons of absent teachers across different subjects and year groups
  • Follow the lesson plans provided by the regular teachers
  • Ensure the learning objectives are met
  • Maintain a positive and safe learning environment
  • Able to adapt to different situations and challenges
  • Use your initiative and creativity to engage and motivate the students

 

Requirements:

  • QTS or Equivalent 
  • In-depth knowledge of the primary school curriculum and teaching methodologies
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine love for education
  • Ability to craft engaging and inclusive lesson plans

To work with GSL Education as a Teacher, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education

 

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection or willingness to take a course on safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
