Maths Graduate
Salary: £25 - £35 per hour
Start Date: September 2024
Location: York, North Yorkshire
GSL Education are seeking to employ a Maths Graduate to work as a Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor or Tutor in local Schools in York and the surrounding areas, throughout the next academic year.

Maths Tutor role:
- Be responsible for interventions delivered within the Maths department in line with the department’s aims and objectives.
- Work closely with class teachers and Key Stage Leads in the Maths department to ensure curriculum continuity and progression in intervention sessions.
- To keep abreast of new developments/initiatives in both special needs’ education and mainstream education.
- Support the Maths department in closing the skills and knowledge gap of targeted students, due to the pandemic and provide support in the classroom where appropriate.
Cover Supervisor role:
- Supervise work that has been set in accordance with the school policy.
- Manage the behaviour of pupils while they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment.
- Collect any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher.
- Assist students when they have questions with the pre-arranged work.
Teaching Assistant role:
- To support pupils with identifying individual needs, on a one-to-one, or small group basis.
- Supporting teachers in the department and classroom whilst effectively managing behaviour.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education to degree level with GCSEs in English and Maths.
- Experience in a similar role, particularly in relation to leading intervention sessions or supporting young people with additional needs.
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of support techniques and programmes.
- The ability to lead and work as part of a team.
