Cover Supervisor – Lincoln

Salary: £120–£140 per day, depending on experience

GSL Education is seeking a confident, enthusiastic, and motivated Cover Supervisor to work in secondary schools across Lincoln. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates and individuals aspiring to become teachers who want to gain first-hand experience in a classroom before progressing into a teaching career.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will help maintain continuity in pupils’ learning by supervising classes during teachers’ absences. You will guide students through pre-prepared work, encourage positive behaviour, and help create an environment where pupils can remain focused and engaged.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes and oversee work set by the absent teacher.
- Explain lesson instructions and encourage pupils to complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain a positive classroom environment and manage behaviour appropriately.
- Support pupils with general questions about their work.
- Follow school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour procedures.
- Report any concerns or incidents to the relevant school staff.
- Build positive and professional relationships with pupils and colleagues.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A genuine interest in teaching and education.
- Confidence communicating with young people.
- Strong organisation and classroom management skills.
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
- The ability to follow instructions and use initiative when needed.
- Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.
