Salary: £110–£130 per day, depending on experience

GSL Education Lincoln Branch are currently seeking a reliable and adaptable Cover Supervisor to work with schools across Grantham.
The successful candidate will supervise classes during the absence of regular teachers, ensuring pupils remain engaged with their learning and complete pre-planned lessons. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication and behaviour management skills who wants to make a positive contribution to pupils' education.
Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise classes during the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
- Support pupils in completing pre-planned lessons and learning activities.
- Maintain a safe, positive and orderly classroom environment.
- Manage pupil behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
- Encourage pupils to remain focused, engaged and motivated throughout lessons.
- Take accurate class registers and report attendance concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Provide guidance to pupils and clarify lesson instructions where necessary.
- Monitor pupils' engagement and report any concerns to teaching staff.
- Adapt confidently to different subjects, year groups and classroom environments.
- Follow school safeguarding, health and safety and behaviour management procedures.
Requirements of a Cover Supervisor:
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Previous experience in a school, education, youth work or similar setting is advantageous.
- Strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
- Confidence in maintaining positive behaviour and managing classroom situations.
- A calm, patient and adaptable approach.
- A degree or relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
