Cover Supervisor – Boston
Location: Boston
Salary: £110–£130 per day, depending on experience

GSL Education is seeking confident and proactive Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Boston. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting young people, can take the lead in a classroom, and wants to help students stay motivated and focused on their learning.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining continuity in education when teachers are absent. You will supervise lessons, explain the work set by the teacher, and encourage students to complete their tasks in a structured and positive environment.
This role is particularly suitable for graduates, university students, and aspiring teachers who want to gain practical experience in schools before progressing into teaching. Candidates with previous experience in education, youth work, coaching, or mentoring are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes across different subjects in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Ensure students understand the instructions and complete the work provided.
- Maintain classroom discipline by following the school's behaviour policies.
- Encourage pupils to remain engaged, respectful, and focused during lessons.
- Support students with general queries about their assigned activities.
- Report behavioural concerns, incidents, or safeguarding issues to the appropriate staff.
- Adapt to different classes and year groups throughout the school day.
- Help maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all pupils.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Confidence leading a classroom and communicating with young people.
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- A calm, fair, and consistent approach to behaviour management.
- The ability to think on your feet and respond positively to changing situations.
- A reliable and professional attitude.
- Previous experience working with children or young people is an advantage but not essential.
- A passion for education, with aspiring teachers and graduates particularly welcome.
