Cover Supervisor – Grimsby
Location: Grimsby, Lincolnshire
Salary: £110 – £130 per day, depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time | Flexible
GSL Education is seeking reliable Cover Supervisors to work within secondary schools in Grimsby.
Would you like to gain practical experience in a classroom before pursuing a career in teaching? This opportunity could be ideal for aspiring teachers, graduates and university students who want to develop their experience working with secondary-aged pupils.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will provide classroom supervision, follow prepared lesson materials and support students in maintaining positive learning behaviours.
Your Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes in the absence of the usual teacher.
- Ensure students complete the work provided.
- Maintain good behaviour and classroom expectations.
- Support students where appropriate during independent work.
- Record attendance and report issues when necessary.
- Work alongside teachers and school staff to support pupils.
We Are Looking For:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence working with secondary-aged students.
- A calm and consistent approach.
- Reliability and flexibility.
- Previous school experience is beneficial but not essential.
- An interest in teaching or education would be an advantage.
This is particularly suitable for aspiring teachers who want to understand classroom routines, student behaviour and the day-to-day experience of working in a secondary school.
