Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide individual and small-group support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them access learning and take part in classroom activities. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will help pupils manage challenges, develop independence and stay engaged throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN.

Assist pupils with accessing classroom activities and learning tasks.

Work alongside teachers to adapt support to individual needs.

Encourage positive behaviour, communication and engagement.

Support pupils with developing confidence and independence.

Help maintain a calm, inclusive and structured classroom environment.

Monitor pupils' progress and share relevant observations with teaching staff.
Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children or young people is desirable.

Experience working with pupils with SEN or additional needs is advantageous.

A patient, empathetic and consistent approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt support to meet individual needs.

Confidence working collaboratively with teachers and other staff.

A genuine commitment to supporting pupils' learning and development.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
