SEN Teaching Assistant – Grantham

Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire
Salary: £93 – £110 per day, depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time | Supply / Long-term

GSL Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Grantham.

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them feel confident, included and successful in the classroom?

GSL Education is looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a school in Grantham. This role would suit someone with experience in SEN, education, care or support work who is looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to children's learning and development.

You will work closely with teachers and other support staff, providing individualised assistance and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN.

  • Assist pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.

  • Help students engage with lessons and classroom activities.

  • Support pupils who may experience barriers to learning or communication.

  • Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.

  • Adapt your approach according to individual pupil needs.

  • Work closely with teachers and the wider school team to support learning plans.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.

  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.

  • Experience in education, care, support work or a similar setting will also be considered.

  • A calm, patient and nurturing personality.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • The ability to remain patient and consistent when supporting pupils with additional needs.

  • A genuine commitment to helping children achieve their potential.

  • Reliability, flexibility and a positive attitude.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
