Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them get the most from their secondary education? A welcoming secondary school in Doncaster is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join its team and provide valuable support across the school.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant (Secondary), you will work alongside subject teachers to support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. Your day will involve helping students understand their learning, providing individual or small-group support and encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.
You may support pupils across different subjects and departments, assist during lesson transitions and help students stay focused as they work towards their educational goals, including GCSE preparation where appropriate.

Responsibilities:

Support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 with their learning.

Work alongside subject teachers to provide effective classroom support.

Provide individual and small-group assistance where required.

Help pupils remain focused and engaged during lessons.

Support appropriate behaviour and positive interactions.

Assist pupils during lesson transitions and across different departments.

Provide additional support with GCSE preparation where appropriate.

Share relevant observations and feedback with teaching staff.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

A genuine interest in supporting secondary-aged pupils.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
A calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour.
-
Ability to work effectively alongside subject teachers and wider school staff.

Good organisational skills and reliability.
-
Previous experience in a secondary school or supporting pupils with SEN is advantageous.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
