Cover Supervisor
Location: Grimsby, Lincolnshire
Salary: £110 – £130 per day, depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education is seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to work in secondary schools in Grimsby.
Are you confident managing a classroom and supporting students with their learning? GSL Education is looking for a Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school in Grimsby, providing effective classroom supervision and ensuring students remain focused and productive when their usual teacher is unavailable.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to gain further experience within a secondary school environment. It can also be a great opportunity for graduates and aspiring teachers looking to develop their classroom management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared work provided by the teacher.
- Maintain a calm, positive and productive classroom environment.
- Ensure students remain engaged with their assigned work.
- Manage behaviour in line with the school's policies and expectations.
- Provide appropriate support and guidance to students during lessons.
- Take attendance and maintain accurate classroom records.
- Report any concerns or incidents to the relevant member of staff.
- Support the wider school team when required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Confidence in managing groups of secondary-aged students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, consistent and positive approach to behaviour management.
- The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.
- A genuine interest in supporting young people's education.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
