GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking an enthusiastic Computer Studies Teacher to work with a school in Doncaster. This role would suit a teacher who can make computing concepts accessible while encouraging students to think logically, solve problems and use technology safely and responsibly.
Your role as a Computer Studies Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons covering relevant computing topics.
- Make technical and digital concepts accessible to pupils.
- Develop students' digital literacy, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Use appropriate technology and resources to support learning.
- Assess pupils' understanding and monitor progress.
- Encourage safe and responsible use of technology.
- Contribute to a positive and well-managed classroom environment.
Requirements for a Computer Studies Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential for a Computer Studies Teacher.
- Strong knowledge of Computer Studies, Computing or a closely related subject.
- Previous teaching experience within a school setting is desirable.
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to engage pupils with varied levels of digital knowledge.
- Effective communication and organisational skills.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
