Job Title: Math Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for knowledgeable and motivated Mathematics Teacher to join secondary schools across Barnsley. This opportunity is ideal for qualified educators who can explain mathematical ideas effectively, adapt lessons for different abilities, and encourage learners to develop strong numerical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
The Maths Teacher is going to deliver structured lessons across the secondary Mathematics curriculum, helping young people strengthen their subject knowledge while preparing effectively for assessments and future study.
Math Teacher Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons across key areas of the Mathematics curriculum
- Present numerical and abstract concepts using clear explanations and practical examples
- Challenge learners through reasoning exercises and problem-solving activities
- Differentiate tasks to accommodate varying levels of ability and understanding
- Evaluate progress through classwork, tests, and formal assessments
- Prepare examination groups with targeted revision and focused academic guidance
Math Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Comprehensive knowledge of the secondary Mathematics curriculum
- Previous experience teaching Mathematics at schools or similar settings
- Ability to explain complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner
- Strong planning, assessment, communication, and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
