Job Title: Computer Studies Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting enthusiastic and technically capable Computer Studies (CS) Teacher for schools in Barnsley. We would like to hear from qualified educators who can combine theoretical knowledge with practical learning, introduce students to modern digital technologies, and develop the problem-solving skills needed to succeed in computing.
The Computer Studies Teacher will deliver engaging learning across programming, algorithms, computer systems, networks, data, and digital technologies while encouraging independent thinking and technical confidence.
Computer Studies Teacher Responsibilities:
- Create curriculum-focused lessons covering key Computing and Computer Studies topics
- Introduce coding and programming concepts through practical exercises and projects
- Explore computer systems, networks, algorithms, data representation, and cybersecurity
- Develop learners’ computational thinking and logical problem-solving abilities
- Assess progress through coursework, practical projects, tests, and classroom activities
- Prepare examination classes through structured revision and targeted academic support
Computer Studies Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Strong understanding of the secondary Computing or Computer Studies curriculum
- Practical knowledge of programming languages and relevant digital technologies
- Experience teaching Computing, Computer Science, or ICT at secondary level
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to students with different levels of experience
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
