Have you recently completed a Teaching Assistant qualification or another relevant qualification and are looking to gain your first experience working in a school?

GSL Education is looking for people to join our team in Skegness, supporting local primary schools on an ad-hoc basis, with regular opportunities available for those looking to work around 2–4 days per week.

This is a great way to get your foot in the door, put your qualification into practice and build your confidence working with children in a school environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting pupils with their learning and development.
  • Working alongside teachers and other school staff.
  • Providing 1:1 or small-group support.
  • Helping pupils stay engaged and confident.
  • Supporting classroom activities and interventions.
  • Building positive relationships with children.
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs where appropriate.

Who we're looking for

You don't need previous school experience. We're looking for someone with:

  • A Teaching Assistant qualification or another relevant qualification.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • A genuine interest in working with children.
  • A caring, patient and positive approach.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn and develop.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

What GSL can offer

  • £95–£110 per day, depending on experience.
  • Primarily primary school opportunities across Skegness and the surrounding area.
  • Regular ad-hoc work, typically 2–4 days per week.
  • The opportunity to gain your first hands-on school experience.
  • Support and guidance from a dedicated consultant.
  • Opportunities to experience secondary and SEN settings if you would like to broaden your experience.
  • Potential opportunities to progress into longer-term and permanent roles.

If you've got your qualification, drive, and are now looking for that first opportunity to work in a school, we'd love to hear from you.
