Are you a Psychology Graduate looking to gain valuable experience working with children and young people?
GSL Education are currently seeking a Psychology Graduate to work as a Teaching Assistant within a school setting in Lincoln, supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology Graduate looking to build practical experience within education, child development, mental health or therapeutic settings.
The Role
You will provide tailored support to pupils who may require additional academic, emotional or behavioural support, helping them to feel confident, engaged and able to access their education.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.

Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

Support pupils with their emotional wellbeing, confidence and engagement.

Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop emotional regulation and resilience.

Assist pupils with their learning and help them overcome barriers to education.

Work closely with teachers and support staff to follow individual support plans.

Use your understanding of psychology and child development to support pupils effectively.

Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Psychology Graduate who is:

Passionate about supporting children and young people.

Interested in SEN, SEMH, psychology, education or mental health.

Patient, empathetic and calm when faced with challenging situations.

Confident building relationships and communicating with young people.

Able to work effectively as part of a wider school team.

Happy to work on a supply basis, with the potential for a full-time/permanent role when the right opportunity becomes available.
