Secondary Teaching Assistant – Eastleigh

Salary: £92.56 per day
Contract: Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive specialist education setting in Eastleigh.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, patient and resilient individual who is passionate about making a real difference to young people's lives.
About the Role
The successful candidate will support secondary-aged pupils who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education. You will work alongside experienced teaching staff to provide both academic and pastoral support, helping pupils re-engage with learning and develop their confidence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils across the secondary curriculum.
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
- Helping pupils engage positively with their learning.
- Supporting students with additional learning and behavioural needs.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting independence.
- Helping create a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment.
- Working closely with teachers and the wider school team.
- Supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

- Adaptable and willing to support pupils with a range of needs.
Previous experience within a school, SEND, SEMH, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching or care environment would be highly desirable.
This could also be an excellent opportunity for someone considering a career in teaching, education, youth work or psychology, looking to gain valuable classroom experience.
