Teaching Assistant – Basingstoke
GSL Education are delighted to be working exclusively with a specialist school in Basingstoke, who are looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant / Support Assistant to join their dedicated team as soon as possible.
The school supports secondary-aged pupils with severe, profound and complex learning needs. Many pupils also have additional sensory, physical, medical, social and emotional needs, creating a rewarding environment where every day is different.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide hands-on support to pupils across the school, helping them access learning and develop their communication, independence and social skills.
Pupils follow a foundation-based curriculum tailored to their individual needs. Alongside supporting Phonics, Literacy and Numeracy, you will also be involved in creative and practical activities, including Art, sensory activities and play-based learning.
If you're energetic, creative and enjoy getting involved in activities such as Play-Doh, painting, crafts and interactive play, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.
You will play an important role in creating a positive, engaging and supportive environment where pupils can feel safe, build confidence and achieve their individual goals.
About You
The school is happy to consider candidates with little or no previous experience, provided you have the right attitude and approach.

Previous experience within SEN, education, care, support work, youth work or similar environments would be beneficial, but is not essential.
