GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to work with a school in Sheffield. This role provides an opportunity to deliver purposeful learning, establish consistent routines and support pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs to make meaningful progress.
As an SEMH Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver accessible lessons that respond to individual learning needs.
- Establish clear routines and expectations to create a stable classroom environment.
- Adapt teaching strategies for pupils with varied SEMH needs.
- Use positive approaches to support behaviour and engagement.
- Build constructive relationships that encourage trust and participation.
- Monitor pupils' progress and adjust learning approaches where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with support and pastoral staff to provide consistent pupil support.
Requirements for the SEMH Teacher role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential for an SEMH Teacher.
- Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching to different emotional and learning needs.
- Patient, resilient and consistent approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
