School Caretaker
Location: Spalding, Lincolnshire
Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum, depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time | Permanent
GSL Education is seeking a reliable and hardworking Caretaker to join a school in Spalding. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented environment and enjoys being part of a busy school community.
As a School Caretaker, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the site, helping to ensure the school premises and grounds are safe, secure, and well maintained for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Open and close the school premises as required.
- Ensure the school site is safe, secure, and well maintained.
- Carry out basic maintenance, repairs, and general DIY tasks.
- Monitor the condition of the school buildings, facilities, and grounds.
- Report any maintenance or health and safety concerns.
- Support with setting up rooms and facilities for school activities and events.
- Manage deliveries and assist contractors when required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Assistant, Facilities Assistant, or in a similar maintenance role.
- Good practical and basic DIY skills.
- An understanding of health and safety procedures.
- The ability to work independently and use their initiative.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with staff, students, and external contractors.
- Previous experience working in a school or education setting would be desirable but is not essential.
