Design & Technology Teacher – Horncastle

Location: Horncastle, Lincolnshire
Salary: MPS/UPS, depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education is seeking a passionate and skilled Design & Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in Horncastle. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who can inspire students and bring creativity, practical skills, and innovation into the classroom.

The successful candidate will teach Design & Technology across secondary age groups, delivering engaging lessons and supporting students to develop their practical, creative, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Teach practical and theory-based lessons in line with the curriculum.
  • Inspire students to develop creativity, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills.
  • Support students with practical project work and assessments.
  • Ensure a safe and productive learning environment, particularly during practical activities.
  • Assess and monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Prepare students for relevant GCSE qualifications.
  • Contribute to the wider Design & Technology department and school community.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Design & Technology within a UK secondary school.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for practical and creative learning.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to engage and motivate students of different abilities.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
