Cover Supervisor
Location: Kent
Salary: £100 - £130 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time and Part-time (Flexible Supply)

This is an excellent opportunity for a Cover Supervisor who enjoys working in different school environments and wants to build on their classroom experience. The secondary schools we work with across Kent are committed to maintaining high standards of behaviour, learning, and student achievement. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in ensuring lessons continue smoothly when teaching staff are unavailable. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared work, and create a calm and purposeful learning environment. Each Cover Supervisor we place is expected to demonstrate professionalism, consistency, and confidence when working with students across the secondary age range.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be expected to:
- Supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring students complete the work provided by their usual teacher.
- Establish and maintain a positive, focused, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Manage student behaviour confidently and follow the school's behaviour and safeguarding procedures.
- Provide appropriate support to students and encourage them to remain engaged with their learning.
- Collect completed work and pass relevant information or feedback to the appropriate department.
- Adapt confidently to different schools, year groups, subjects, and classroom environments.
To be considered for this Cover Supervisor role, the candidate must:
- Have proven experience working in a UK classroom or school environment (essential for this position).
- Be confident managing groups of students independently and maintaining high expectations of behaviour.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have a calm, professional, and reliable approach to working with young people.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Meet GSL's safer recruitment background checks.
- Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
