Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant
Location: Boston, Lincolnshire
Salary: £93 – £110 per day, depending on experience

GSL Education is seeking a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a school in Boston.
Are you confident supporting children and young people who may display challenging behaviour? Do you have the patience, resilience and communication skills needed to help pupils overcome barriers to learning?
GSL Education is looking for a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a school in Boston. This role would suit someone who has experience working with pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional or pastoral support and who can remain calm and consistent in challenging situations.
You will work alongside teaching staff and the wider pastoral team to help pupils develop positive behaviours, improve their engagement with learning and build stronger relationships within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
- Help pupils manage challenging behaviour and emotional responses.
- Encourage positive behaviour and reinforce clear boundaries and expectations.
- Build trusting and supportive relationships with pupils.
- Use calm and consistent approaches when dealing with difficult situations.
- Help pupils re-engage with learning following behavioural incidents.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to monitor pupil progress.
- Support pupils in developing confidence, independence and appropriate social skills.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
- Experience within a school, alternative provision, youth work or similar setting would be beneficial.
- Patient, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Confident in setting appropriate boundaries while maintaining positive relationships.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine commitment to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs would be advantageous.
