GSL Education are currently recruiting for a passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Maths Teacher to work across secondary schools in York.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maths Teacher or an educator seeking a new challenge within a supportive school environment. You will have the opportunity to engage learners across a range of abilities, make mathematics accessible and meaningful, and help students develop the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed.

About the Role:

As a Maths Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons across the relevant secondary curriculum, using varied teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs. You will establish high expectations, maintain a positive classroom environment, and encourage students to develop strong mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Core Responsibilities of the Maths Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons aligned with the relevant curriculum and examination requirements
  • Differentiate learning activities to support students across a range of abilities and learning needs
  • Maintain effective classroom management and promote positive attitudes towards learning
  • Assess student understanding, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback
  • Develop students' mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and independent learning skills
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support students' academic progress and wider development

As the Ideal Maths Teacher, You Should Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Strong subject knowledge across the secondary Maths curriculum
  • Experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary school setting
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and challenge students with different abilities
  • A genuine passion for Mathematics and a commitment to helping young people achieve their potential

To Work with GSL Education, You Must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
  • Have recent teaching experience within an educational setting
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
