Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are supporting tech savvy schools throughout Sheffield in their search for skilled and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher. We welcome applications from qualified educators who can combine creativity with practical learning, introduce students to different materials and techniques, and encourage them to develop their own ideas with confidence.

The Design and Technology Teacher role enables learners to develop technical, creative, and problem-solving skills through an engaging curriculum that fosters innovation, resilience, and independent thinking.

D&T Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons
  • Guide students through researching, designing, making, and evaluating products
  • Teach learners how to work with different tools, materials, and equipment
  • Demonstrate safe working practices during practical activities
  • Encourage students to experiment with ideas and improve their designs
  • Assess practical and written work and provide clear feedback

DT Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Previous experience teaching Design and Technology in a school or similar setting
  • Good knowledge of D&T materials, tools, and practical techniques
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements in workshop environments
  • Strong planning, communication, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
